Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 6, 2026

1. Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your personal information is:

Mateusz Ignacik

E-mail: contact@libriv.com

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email, username, and profile picture (via Google Sign-In or manual entry).
  • Reading Data: We store information about the books you read, your reading progress, sessions, and genres to provide the "Genre Mastery" and tracking features.
  • Media Access: We request access to your camera and photo library to scan book barcodes and allow you to upload profile or session photos.
  • Device Information: We may collect basic device information to improve app performance and for troubleshooting.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain our service, including tracking your reading progress.
  • To manage your account and provide customer support.
  • To personalize your experience (e.g., Genre Mastery titles).
  • To display advertisements (for non-premium users) via Google Mobile Ads.
  • To process payments for premium subscriptions.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Firebase (Google): For authentication, database storage, and cloud functions.
  • Google LLC – Firebase Analytics: For aggregate usage analytics (see Section 5).
  • Google Mobile Ads: To serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
  • RevenueCat / Google Play Billing: To manage subscriptions.

5. Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to understand how readers use Libriv so we can improve features and reduce friction. Firebase Analytics collects:

  • Screen views and in-app events (e.g. opening a book, completing a reading session).
  • Aggregate device information (model, OS version, app version, language, country derived from IP — IP is not stored).
  • The Firebase Instance ID and, on Android, the Advertising ID.
  • Your Libriv user ID (so we can analyse cohorts; never your email, username, book content, quotes, or notes).

Data is retained by Google for up to 14 months and processed under Google's standard contractual clauses. You can disable analytics at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Usage Data, and reset the Advertising ID at the OS level.

For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, analytics data is collected only after you give explicit in-app consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings → Privacy.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures provided by Firebase to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

You can update your profile information within the app or delete your account at any time, which will remove your personal data from our active databases.
